Hearty Hamburger Soup




*ingredients:

°2 lbs lean beef
°1 white onion, peel & diced
°1⁄4 tsp ground black pepper
°1⁄2 tsp dry thyme, to taste
°1⁄2 teaspoon dry basil, to taste
°1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
°1 (1 1/2 ounce) onion soup mix
°6 c water, more to desire consistency
°1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
°1 tablespoon of soy sauce
°1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
°(15 ounce) can corn, drained
°1 cup chopped celery
°1/4 cup coarsely chopped celery leaves
°1 cup chopped fresh carrots
°1 cup white potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
°Garlic salt to taste
°Grated Parmesan cheese to serve
°Sour cream for serving

*Directions:

Brown ground beef & onions in  saucepan. drain if obligatory.
Add the spices and onion soup mixture.
- Adding water, tomato sauce & soy sauce. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Add the remaining ingredients to the potatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer until potatoes and carrots are tender, about 30 minutes. (Add more water if needed).
Season to flavor with garlic salt.
Served with grated parmesan cheese and sour cream.
