Here is Paula Deen's recipe for chocolate fudge:


3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup butter, plus more for greasing

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Grease an 8-inch square baking dish with butter.

In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and 1/4 cup butter. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the nuts (if using) and vanilla extract.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.

Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until it is firm.

Cut the fudge into squares and serve.
